Growing Together @ STL
September 27, 2024
Leadership Message
Blessings to every parent who joined the STL School Council on Monday night for this year's first ever School Council meeting! It was a full night, rich with great discussions, ideas, and contributions. Thank you! Thank you to Erin Crawley and the entire 2023-2024 School Council for their fantastic leadership and service. Thank you to everyone who is stepping into new roles! Connecting with each parent continues to reinforce how beautiful this community is, and how invested everyone is in the success of all students, staff and families. Thank you!
Today I am celebrating the grade 4 student above who demonstrated exceptional compassion, patience and love when one of his peers was having a heavy day and needed some extra TLC. This young man offered help, kind words, a warm hug and walked with his friend through the heaviness in Chill Ville. Well done!
On Monday while on supervision, the three girls below and I reconnected and talked about weekend fun. They were excited to share stories and just be heard. Connections & relationships matter!
Laughing together as family brings us together! On Wednesday, I shared this joke from a grade 6 student and I laughed hard!
Imagine you're in a room with no doors and no windows. How do you get out?
Stop Imagining!
Many Blessings to you this weekend and all week,
With gratitude,
Mme Gravelle

Please Wait for the buses
- If you are parked in the parking lot out front of the school, please wait for the buses to leave before you back out of the stall and leave the parking lot. Buses start to leave at approximately 2:45pm, just 5 minutes after the bell. If you need to leave before that, please use the gravel parking lot.
- Thank you for ensuring that children are not walking through the parking lot on their own. Please walk with your child.
- Thank you for walking around the buses, and not in between the buses.
- If you are parking on the road, in the front or gravel parking lot, please come and get your children and walk them to your vehicle.

Grade 4 - 8 Boys Intramurals Begins Next Week!
Thanks to Mr. Mak we are launching our Grade 4-8 Intramurals program. Multiple sports will be played on a rotation basis, with a focus first on learning the sport and their specific skills, and then moving into a modified tournament of play. Sports such as Basketball, Volleyball, Broom Ball, Lacrosse, Floor Hockey may be explored and played.
Boys will have the option to pick the intramural sports they would like to play and are expected to commit to that sport for the duration of the theme.
More information will be shared with students next week! If you have any questions, please contact us at the school.
Grade 4-8 Choir Launched This week!
Thank you to the many students (we are at approximately 30!) who are interested in joining Choir and leading us in praise and worship! Thank you to Mrs. Marple and Miss Baldo for leading this great extra curricular club!

You can still bring in your toonies all week!
Celebrating our Grade 5s!
This past week a few of our students won an Indigenous art contest with Strathcona County and will have their art displayed at the Community Center Agora on September 30th during the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation event with the County. Big congratulations to our talented St. Luke students!!
ORANGE SHIRT DAY ACTIVTIES
All 127 of the school’s students painted rocks orange and wrote messages related to truth and reconciliation on them. The students have placed these rocks in our indoor planters as well as outdoors near our beautiful Indigenous rock circle. It was the perfect day of sunshine and smiling faces to honor Orange Shirt Day
